Melinda Kovács

The photos displayed on the walls are the works of photographer Melinda Kovács who made them specifically for our café. Melinda Kovács really does „make” her pictures in every sense. With her predesigned compositions, hand-made models and artificial environments she controls the creative process from the very beginning. The taking of the photographs is a momentary act compared to the amount of time she dedicates to building sculptures or colouring the developed photos.

Bill slip

The bill slip, which was used by shopkeepers to add the price of the purchased items and by waiters to calculate the price of the consumed food and drink, could be considered as an ad delivered to your hands, as in its heyday this piece of paper reached almost everyone in society. The front used to feature high quality lithographies, the back was used for calculations. The bill slip was a great invention of the second-third of the 19th century, but its real golden age came during the turn-of-the-century especially on the territory of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The bill slips decorating the walls are from the collection of Péter Flanek.
